VOW has been informally advised that, following an enquiry through normal channels, Planning Officials at Hart “were of the opinion that a planning application for a Junction 5 warehouse was not imminent”

While VOW sees this as welcome news, we must emphasise that it only reflects an opinion.  It also suggests that nothing is likely to happen in the near future: it does not indicate that the proposal to build a giant warehouse distribution centre at Lodge Farm is finally defunct.  Indeed, we believe that Obsidian’s investment in putting together a detailed planning proposal makes it difficult for them to abandon the project completely.

VOW remains alert to the possibility of future proposals that might build on or further develop the existing Planning Pre-Application.  Please keep checking the website for others news and updates.
