Who We are

Villages Oppose Warehouses (VOW) was set up by a group of concerned Hart’s citizens as a Community Interest Company (CIC), registered number 14403242 . To date over 1000 concerned members of the public have registered with VoW to date.

Our Mission

VOW’s mission is to protect the rural character of Hart from the growing threat posed by over development by unnecessary warehouses. In the current instance, a proposal to build one of the UKs largest Warehouse Distribution Hubs on 80 acres of productive arable land at Lodge Farm in North Warnborough.

In pursuit of this aim VOW will act as a focal point around which local bodies and citizens can rally in opposition to the Lodge Farm warehouse project.  VOW will gather data, seek professional advice and provide an outlet for the expression of legitimate fears and objections.

OUR OBJECTIVE

To focus, mobilise, enable, and represent the significant opposition that exists across Hart to the proposed development of Lodge Farm.

The developer’s plan, based on current and previous documentation published, will be to seek permission to build over 1,000,000 sq feet of warehouse space somewhere between 65 (5 double decker busses) and 100 feet (7 double decker busses) high. Their plans are for the site to be open 24 hours a day/365 days a year and they expect 12,000 traffic movements, between 07:00 and 19:00 alone, every day.

OUR Strategy

In pursuit of its objective, VOW will act as a focal point around which Hart’s residents, local bodies and other interested parties can rally in opposition to this and future warehouse projects that threaten Harts’ rural heritage.  VOW will gather and share data, seek professional advice,  provide guidance to others and take action to ensure that decision makers are aware of legitimate fears and objections that will stop any unjustifiable warehouse developments.
