LODGE FARM FIELDS GROWING POTATOES IN SUMMER 2022
Harvesting the potatoes on Lodge Farm, Summer 2022
Lovely to see the rich harvest of potatoes from the fields at Lodge Farm in Summer 2022. Potatoes have been grown on these fields for decades – and the fields are home to Wilson’s Wonders who specialise in rare and local varieties of potato. They are award winning growers! Other potatoes grown on the farm go to make Burt’s crisps.
It is clear from the land categorization that land able to grow potatoes is classified as 3a – potatoes are the specific differentiator in deciding if land is 3a or 3b. Why then is the field where these potatoes grow supposedly classified as 3b?
Could it be that it is because you can’t build on 3a land? There is clearly a mistake in the land classification – this needs to be rectified as clearly the land is producing a potato crop.
